Hi, it’s Debbie Schaeffer, CEO of Mrs G, with a tip to help make your next dishwasher purchase easy and stress free with no surprises. One of the best tips when purchasing a new appliance is to take some basic measurements before leaving the house. This will save you time and make your whole shopping experience much easier. So if you’re looking to replace your dishwasher make sure to follow these steps before you begin shopping. All you need is measuring tape, a smart phone, and a helper to get started.
Taking a picture of your dishwasher is a great idea to speed up the buying process. Take a picture of the dishwasher as well as the measurements so you won’t have to write anything down. So have your helper snap a picture of each measurement that you take.
First, measure the opening of your dishwasher cabinet, from the floor to the underside of the counter top. Then measure the wooden panel around your dishwasher. It is especially important that you measure the opening, not just the appliance itself. This will help your appliance expert find the perfect new dishwasher for you. It’s also very helpful to take a picture of the model number of your existing dishwasher. This can be found on the side of the door or on the side of the interior wall.
If we find that the counter top height is shorter than normal, a new floor could have been installed after the dishwasher. The solution would be an ADA dishwasher which features a shorter design to fit these situations. So be sure to bring in all your pictures and we will find the perfect dishwasher for you and your home with no surprises.
