Hi, it’s Debbie Schaeffer, CEO of Mrs G, and I’m here to share a tip to help make your next built-in refrigerator purchase easy and stress free with no surprises. Replacing a built-in refrigerator like a Sub-Zero, is a little different than replacing a freestanding refrigerator, so there are a couple of things you need to check when getting started. One of the best tips when purchasing a new appliance is to take some basic measurements before leaving the house. This will save you time and make your whole shopping experience much easier. So if you’re looking to replace your built-in refrigerator, make sure to follow these steps before you begin shopping. All you need is measuring tape, a smart phone, and a helper to get started.
Taking a picture of your built-in refrigerator is a great way to speed up the buying process. Take pictures of the refrigerator as well as the measurements, so you don’t have to write anything down. First, take pictures of the entire refrigerator, surrounding cabinets, and any side panels. Next measure from the floor to the very top of the refrigerator. Most built-in refrigerators are 84 inches tall. If the measurement is less than 84 inches tall, most likely a tile or wood floor was added with the refrigerator in place. This is very important information for the appliance consultant to advise on the removal of the old refrigerator and the installation of the new refrigerator.
Next, measure the width and then take a picture of the model number. This can usually be found on the inside of the top grille. Then bring your pictures in and we’ll find the perfect built-in refrigerator for you and your home with no surprises.
