The new grilling season is fast approaching and you may find yourself in the market for a new grill but not sure how to choose the right one. The new line of Wolf outdoor grills are available now in a variety of sizes and make a great addition to anyone’s outdoor kitchen. But with all the different sizes and options it might be difficult to determine the right one. Here are some important factors you should keep in mind to help you choose the right grill.

Family Size: Family size is an important factor that should be considered when deciding which Wolf outdoor grill to purchase. If you have a large family then more grill space would be necessary to assure you have room to cook for many people at once. Also, if you entertain guests a lot and plan on cooking for a large amount of people it may be wise to invest in a larger size grill to accommodate all your food, like the 42”or 54”. However, if the grill is primarily to cook for yourself or a family of 2 or 3 at a time, then a smaller size Wolf grill, like the 30” or 36” should be sufficient. So it is important to first consider how much grilling space you think you will need.
Type of Food: The types of food that will be grilled can also make a difference in what Wolf grill should be bought. If you are primarily going to be grilling a few hotdogs or a few burgers at a time then a 30” or 36” should be fine. A 42” will give you a little more room and would be a good size for grilling multiple types of food at once like steaks, chicken, burgers, etc. But if you plan on cooking a lot of food at once like pizzas, chicken, and vegetables, then a 54” Wolf range may even be the right choice for you. Therefore, when deciding the grill size, it is important to think ahead about just how many people you plan to regularly cook for and what types of foods you will cook. Wolf also has a 13” side burner that can be bought separately to provide additional space for cooking side dishes or heating sauces while grilling outside.

Sear Zone: When deciding which Wolf outdoor grill to buy, also think about how important the 25,000 BTU Sear Zone is to you. The Infrared Sear Zone uses direct heat to sear meat fast and deep and seal in juices, creating restaurant quality meats at home. It also has a variable control so the temperature can be adjusted for different foods. The Sear Zone is not available in the 30” Wolf grill, so if it is an important feature to you then consider getting a 36” or larger Wolf outdoor range.

Built-in or Portable: Another choice that needs to be made when picking a Wolf grill is deciding on a built-in or portable application with accessory cart. This decision needs to be made based on your needs and outdoor set up. If you have a custom enclosure or cabinetry put aside to have your grill built-in to and you have no problem with keeping the grill in one spot then this may be your choice. However, if you want a more portable, less permanent solution than the Wolf portable grill with cart might be better. The cart contains fold down shelves with tool holders and a pull-out tray for storage so it give you the space you need to store all your grill supplies. This decision is more based on preference and whether or not you think you will need to move the grill, and how much space you have for it. The 54” Wolf grill is only available in the built-in application.
Natural Gas or LP: Next, while thinking about installing a grill, you must decide whether you want your Wolf grill in natural gas or liquid propane. LP is a common choice and a good option because it comes in a portable tank, can be stored easily, and is available almost everywhere. Natural gas needs a pipe that connects the grill directly to the gas main at the house. Natural gas is an option to choose if you have natural gas available in your area and if you plan to directly connect it in a permanent spot.
