I was an early adapter to social media, and lucky enough to connect with local social media powerhouse PR agent Hilary Morris who introduced me to many local brilliant business owners who also saw the marketing value of social media. Many of us get together a few times a year and share our social media experiences and brainstorm events together. Georgianne Vinicombe, with her husband Kevin, are the owners of Monday Morning Flower and Balloon Co. and are local biz rockstars. I am pleased to have Georgianne as a guest blogger. Here is part 1 of a 2 part series called Kitchen Flower Power.

Home Sweet Home – from a floral point of view
by Georgianne at Monday Morning Flower and Balloon Co.

If you are reading Mrs. G’s blog right now, my guess is that you are probably a home person. You know what I mean, someone who loves their home, loves being in their home, decorating their home and constantly freshening and updating their home. With all the amazing things to choose from at Mrs. G’s (trust me, I know being both my fabulous fridge and double oven come from there), how can you not be tempted to make your home the best one on the block. Of course, when Debbie asked me to write a guest blog for her site, I could not resist the temptation to talk about how the love of home goes hand in hand with flowers.

Did you know that people that live with fresh flowers in their home live happier lives? Believe it or not a Harvard Study (sorry Princeton) shows that flowers chase away anxieties, worries and the blues at home. Overall, people in the study simply felt less negative after being around flowers at home for just a few days. Participants most frequently placed flowers in their kitchens, dining rooms and living room, where they spend a lot of time at home. They reported wanting to see the blooms first thing in the morning.

Are you trying to sell your home? In addition to updating appliances, carpet and paint, displaying fresh flowers is a worthwhile investment. A small display of fresh blooms in the kitchen and living areas can go a long way in helping folks view your home as a place they would want to buy and live in.

Debbie Lang, Realtor & Relocation Specialist Prudential Fox & Roach Realtors in Princeton New Jersey posted this fabulous picture on facebook and noted, "What a nice way to welcome a future buyer! Here is an example how flowers and other little touches can make a home look more inviting. Needless to say, this set the tone for the transaction and everything went smoothly."

Who would have thought that flowers had such an impact! Don’t you deserve the best such as that new amazing Mrs. G stove (shameless plug for my favorite store) and a bouquet of fresh flowers? Treat yourself and we promise it will be for all the right reasons. Nothing pays off bigger than in investment in your home!

I agree with Georgianne that the kitchen is the perfect spot to place flowers. I went to my favorite site, Houzz.com to showcase a few kitchens with flowers and asked Georgianne to identify them.  Here are five beautiful kitchens with flowers……..

A vase of peony placed next to the sink showcasing  a nice Bertazzoni range and hood.

Beautiful white lilies on the countertop.

Allium, a tall plant that blends nicely with the high ceiling  of the lights and hood.

I really love this photo because the homeowner uses three different beautiful flower types. From left to right, the flowers in this picture are tulips, hydrangeas, and peony. We can’t leave out the 48″ Thermador range and matching hood that floats on the marble herringbone wall. Nice!

An arrangement of Gladiolus and Asiatic lilies that complement the cabinetry in the kitchen.

When shopping for flowers there is no better place than Monday Morning Flowers, and if you’re in need of new kitchen appliances be sure to visit us at Mrs. G TV & Appliances.
